Last week we were extremely proud to be crowned the Best Farm Restaurant in the U.K at the Farm Retail Association Awards. We were nominated alongside some hugely inspiring and well-known businesses and are just very grateful to be finalists, so winning was a huge shock! We also got to meet one of our food heroes,  as he presented us with the award. It was a great night for our little family business.

I’m a huge supporter of farm shops and farmer’s markets as they are rooted in the food and farming of local communities, so they can offer the best seasonal produce that comes from the surrounding landscape. It’s great to celebrate these businesses, often family-run, who are working so hard to supply high-quality local food to communities across the country. I am so impressed by the standards of the entries and the winners should be especially proud of their achievement.”

Our mission has always been to connect with our community through local, seasonal and sustainable produce. Opening The Barn in June was a massive step forward for us in being able to take that to the next level after a turbulent few years. I am so incredibly proud of the efforts of our wonderful team and the opportunity we have to serve our community. Rest assured though we know we’ve plenty more to do, and we won’t be resting on our laurels (but we may wallow in the glory for a couple of days!).
