As summer gets into the swing of things, we are following suit and gearing up for another alfresco season! We learned a lot last year and spending as much time out in the fresh air as we possibly can was certainly one of them. We are lucky to have our flower garden and paddock and they have really come into their own in the last year. We’ve had some beautiful scenes as the flowers come into season and there is no finer place to enjoy a gelato or smoothie in the summer sun!

This summer, we also hope to bring back our Garden Kitchen, a pop-up kitchen down in the garden. The finer details are still being finalised but you’ll hear about it first either on our newsletter or on our social media pages. Think stone-baked pizzas, fresh salads and a glass of something cold!

Meanwhile, in The Barn, we’ve changed up our Friday night takeaway a little where you can now enjoy your food here at the farm! The Barn is open for bookings and walk-ins for Friday evenings. Our menu is on our website but feel free to give the team a call for booking enquiries or any other information on o1225 864948.

In the farm shop, we are getting ourselves picnic-ready. We have some great picnic essentials in the gift barn including the amazing Falcon enamelware that is the perfect plate for our fresh salads, homemade sausage rolls and pies! We will also be giving our display of drinks in the farm shop a revamp soon to include a great selection of chilled drinks to go with a big emphasis on the amazing local makers.

We’ve had a busy June on the farm with a couple of weeks of silage making. Our species-rich pastures have been an absolute delight to walk through as everything comes to flower. We now manage our cutting and grazing to ensure our mix of native grasses, wild herbs and legumes are given time to grow, flower and seed benefitting not only the plants themselves but also our soils, the insects and birds that call our farm home.

See you all soon

Tom
