As the calendar turns to September, there’s a collective sigh of relief echoing through the air – we’ve once again navigated the ebbs and flows of summer holidays. Despite the few sunny September days at the start of the month, we haven’t quite had the sweltering summer days of years gone by although the cows are very grateful for the rain and shine and the much more lush, rain-soaked pastures.

In tandem with the meteorological shift towards autumn, a sense of routine tiptoes back into our lives, for me anyway. With this shift comes a culinary transition, a return to heartier fare. The butchers will be glad to be storing away the burger press and the kebab sticks and their displays will be making way for the more traditional joints for the Sunday table. The Barn will be echoing a similar sentiment as the Sunday menu will also return to favour the Sunday roast again. Don’t forget you can preorder your farm shop favourites online for local delivery or click and collect and also book your table in The Barn to avoid disappointment!

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our mini 15th birthday celebration last month. The rain relented for most of the morning and there was a lovely buzz about the farm! We’ve also have a couple of events to tell you about this month starting with our Nose to Trail run on Sunday 10th of September. We’ve got 10k and 5k races as well as a Kids Colour Clamber event all starting and ending at the farm shop. Tickets are now available online.  And that’s not all – mark the 12th of September for the return of Kate’s Trowel and Error course in her market garden here on the farm. Enjoy a garden tour, some top tips from Kate and some lunch back in The Barn after as well as a veggie box to take home!

Welcome along autumn!
