Happy New Year, to all our wonderful customers! As we step into a brand-new year, it’s a time filled with endless possibilities and opportunities to embrace healthier habits. And what better way to start this journey than with the fresh, hearty ingredients that winter provides in abundance?

Our Fresh Produce

The Hartley way is built on forging strong relationships with local farmers, growers and makers. As well as grass-fed beef and organic salads and veggies from our own farm, we are blessed with incredible producers on our doorstep. This means not only are you benefitting from local, fresh food to nurture your body and soul, but you are also showing huge support to your local food system, one that no doubt will become increasingly important to us all over the coming years and generations!

What’s Fresh This Month?

Recipes to Inspire

We’ve been inspired recently by some of our favourite local chefs. Julius Roberts runs a small farm in Devon and has recently launched a beautiful cookbook, which I am now the proud owner of a first edition signed copy (thanks Father Christmas!). Here is a great winter warmer that features some beautiful cavolo nero which is bountiful from Kate’s market garden here at Hartley at the moment.

This recipe of slow-cooked shin of Beef by Gill Mellor is also a beauty. A real rich unctuous stew of beef shin, coming from our own grass-fed Hereford cattle at the moment, local potatoes from the Robinsons at Gastard and Cider from Kimberley’s orchard in Midford!

Your Health, Our Commitment

At Hartley Farm, our commitment goes beyond just providing fresh produce. We’re here to champion the journey towards a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle. Our team are always ready to share tips on selecting the best produce, storage techniques, or even recipe ideas.

As we embrace this New Year, let’s make a collective commitment to healthier eating and living. Remember, a fresh start doesn’t mean a drastic change; it’s about making better choices, one meal at a time.

Here’s to a healthful, joyful, and prosperous New Year!
